What Size Bmx Bike For Me

" ambassadors "of Roger Peyrefitte

.
The "forgotten book" I want to propose a novel is very unique, somewhat autobiographical character, customs and values \u200b\u200bwith touches of historical chronicle.

The story tells the permanent secretary of the embassy of the young Count de Giorgio Sarre, near the French embassy in Athens, at the dawn of the first events that have shaken Europe and the world later, with the tragedy of the Second World War.

For the young George is the first foreign assignment entrusted to him by Quai d'Orsay, the French Foreign Ministry.

The long train journey from Paris to the Greek capital, enables the author, through his main character, to anticipate what is the career, or the world of diplomacy, but the episodes that will be are taking place during a diplomatic mission to expose the vices, many virtues and, a few, that characterize the embassy at a time when these organs were losing weight, which for centuries had been within the relations between states.

An argument that the author knows well, since he was a diplomat, assigned their own in Athens and in those years.

George tries to juggle the intrigues, rivalries, pettiness and lesser-known actors are in the various officials of the Embassy.

The attendance of two diplomats of other nations, will renew Giorgio memories of a troubled past and a reminder that 'love greek "that certain classical Hellenistic philosophers practiced, acclaimed by two acquaintances, I try many times, without him ever cross the border.

Instead it will be with Frank, the young daughter of the French, that George will touch very bold borders: their passion goes beyond the normal relationship between two people.

George will also be attracted by Rodolfo, a young German diplomat, with whom he shares a spiritual transport for the ancient greek world, but with whom will never get to eat a real passion carnal, though timid it could be the prologue.

a burst of pride for George and the imminent war will separate the two friends, commanded to return to Paris and Berlin.

George will leave Athens, but that city, with its enormous historical legacy, with the ecstasy of the Prosecutor, the shaking of the senses and memories, remain in your heart, forever.

The novel deals with issues such as homosexuality and bisexuality, which is still quite taboo for the time when it was first published in France: 1951.

but addressing them in a polite, with a prose style and a classic, never easy to fall into vulgarity or explicit descriptions, though it remains clear the intrinsic meaning of the story and the message the author wants to convey to reader, much stronger today showing off many of dubious taste and less effective.

very delicate aspects of the subject, such as the young age of grooms object of the attentions of diplomatic acquaintances of the protagonist, may leave as I left, puzzled. For this reason the book should certainly be reserved for adult readers, with a strong critical sense.

The reconstruction of historical events as a corollary of the novel is accurate, and stigmatizes effective diplomacy, to the point where it becomes the main subject with which at the time the book appeared, hiding the other striking content .

The edition in my possession is the pocket edition, published by Longanesi in 1966.

:

reading the biography of Roger Peyrefitte, you can not then recognize as the young George. Some biographers have as one of the principal authors of the gay world, others consider it only a diplomat and a writer, a time to cry much of the topics covered in his novels, but now quite forgotten.

Roger Peyrefitte died in Paris on November 5, 2000.
